Le fotografie rivolgono l’attenzione su alcuni oggetti d’uso, osservando la normalità del nostro attuale e prossimo quotidiano.
Nei dispositivi digitali di riproduzione video il tasto skip serve a saltare da un blocco di dati all’altro.
Il titolo gioca con le parole deviando dal significato di still life per indagare, attraverso alcuni oggetti, la continua ridefinizione della normalità nel teatro del quotidiano divenire: fino a qualche tempo fa solo i folli parlavano da soli per strada, oggi è normale vedere persone che apparentemente parlano da sole mentre comunicano da telefonino con piccoli microfoni e auricolari. Domani potremmo incrociare per strada qualcuno che gesticola vistosamente usando un dispositivo Neural Pro!
La mostra si propone di scrutare gli effetti dell’accelerazione del presente sulla normalità, documentando certi aspetti delle trasformazioni (avvenute o in corso) a partire da alcune ricerche scientifiche e applicazioni tecnologiche nei settori delle infotecnologie, delle biotecnologie e delle nanotecnologie, con riscontri e proiezioni nel concreto del vissuto quotidiano.

Special cases of normality in day-to-day life.
The smooth and continuing technological advances produced by the scientific knowledge have a striking impact on day-to-day life. On the stage of everyday life, normality is an on-going process: until very recently only lunatics soliloquised in the streets. Today it is normal to see people apparently talking to themselves whereas they are communicating through their mobile phones by means of tiny microphones or earpieces.
In digital players, we press skip to go from one block of data to another. The title of the exhibit plays on words departing from the meaning of still life in order to investigate the very concept of normality in day-to-day life through some objects.
The exhibit aims at scanning the effects of today’s acceleration on normality showing some aspects of transformations (undergone or on-going) starting from scientific research and technological applications in the fields of information technologies, bio-technologies and nano-technologies that have a practical impact on our everyday life.
The photographs mostly portray commonly used objects to show the pivotal manners of our normality as of today and in the near future.
Some of the art work aims at conveying a new definition of normality where this concept is shaky or problematic, such as for the most advanced visual or hearing aids using devices directly connected to our brain.
